#asktheexpert my daughter is diagnosed with bronchitis....is antibiotic required??? she will be fine right?

A. you cannot give antibiotics without medical consultation. also if it's viral infection or an allergy then there is no role of antibiotics. all infection and illness doe not require antibiotics. also dosasge is given as per infection and type of disease. meet your dr for proper advice.

A. In nearly all cases, antibiotics shouldn't be used to treat acute bronchitis. That's because most of the infections are caused by viruses. Even children who have been coughing for longer than 8 to 10 days often don't need antibiotics. Antibiotics aren't used unless your child has a bacterial infection.
