Q.

#AskTheExpert My daughter has a cough since 10 days and over the weekend she also had fever. I had already given her a full course of antibiotics. should I start a new course of antibiotics to bring down fever?

A. The first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. Give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. Keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever Armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever To body sponxge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water. Higher medicines whether required or not will be told by the doctor.

A. good morning yes definitely I would recommend you to consult with your doctor and start using antibiotics again to make sure the child is able to get rid of the problem of fever and not have any issue
