A. If your 3-month-old daughter is having bowel movements every 6-7 days and seems cranky, this might indicate constipation. Newborns typically have more frequent bowel movements, but as they grow, their pattern can change. Here are a few things to consider and try: 1. **Hydration:** Ensure she's getting enough fluids. For a breastfed baby, this usually means adequate breastfeeding. If formula-fed, make sure the formula is prepared correctly. 2. **Tummy Time:** Encourage tummy time to help stimulate bowel movements through gentle abdominal pressure. 3. **Bicycle Legs:** Gently move her legs in a bicycling motion while she's lying on her back. This can help stimulate her digestive system. 4. **Warm Bath:** A warm bath can help relax her muscles and may aid in bowel movement. 5. **Consult a Pediatrician:** If her stool pattern is causing discomfort or if she seems unusually cranky, it's a good idea to consult her pediatrician. They can assess her situation and recommend appropriate interventions or adjustments to her diet.
