A. To support weight gain and brain development for your 9-month-old, consider adding the following foods to his diet: 1. Healthy Fats: Avocado: Rich in healthy fats and calories. Mash it or blend it into purees. Nut Butters: Almond or peanut butter (ensure there are no allergies) can be added to porridge or spread on soft bread. 2. Protein Sources: Eggs: Scrambled or hard-boiled eggs are excellent sources of protein and nutrients. Chicken or Fish: Finely shredded cooked chicken or well-cooked fish (like salmon) can be added to meals. 3. Dairy: Full-Fat Yogurt: A good source of calcium and probiotics. You can mix it with fruit purees. Cheese: Soft cheese can be introduced as a snack or added to meals. 4. Fruits and Vegetables: Bananas: A calorie-dense fruit that can be mashed or served as finger food. Sweet Potatoes: Rich in nutrients and can be mashed or pureed. 5. Whole Grains: Quinoa: A protein-rich grain that can be cooked and mixed with vegetables or purees. Millet or Ragi: Good options for porridge or as flour in chapatis. 6. Homemade Porridges: Combine various grains with fruits and nuts to make nutrient-dense porridge. 7. Smoothies: Blend fruits, yogurt, and oats for a nutritious smoothie. Tips: Variety: Introduce new foods gradually and monitor for any allergies. Texture: Ensure food is suitable for his chewing and swallowing abilities. Hydration: Keep him well-hydrated, but limit sugary drinks. Always consult your pediatrician before making significant changes to your baby's diet to ensure it meets his specific needs.
