#asktheexpert My boy had mesenteric lymphadenitis. he got cured. but again since 2 days he is having stomach pain. what could be the reason. please advise. Thanks

A. If your son had mesenteric lymphadenitis earlier and is now experiencing stomach pain again, it’s possible that the lymph nodes in his abdomen are inflamed once more. This condition often flares up after or during viral or bacterial infections, even mild ones like a cold or sore throat. The pain can feel similar to appendicitis but is usually less severe. However, recurring or persistent pain should not be ignored. It could also be due to gas, constipation, or a stomach infection. Please monitor for symptoms like fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite, and consult your pediatrician to rule out recurrence or other causes.
