Q.

#AskTheExpert my baby weight is increased by only 400 grams in first month after birth. shall we start giving her formula milk like Nanpro ? she is not latching directly on breast as well. We use nipple shield for feeding. any suggestions on that ?

A. Hello, your baby boy is 1 month old and he has put his weight only by 400 gms from his birth actually he would have put 900 gm so start nanpro 1 formula milk

A. If u have sufficient milk u need not go for formula. Your baby should be peeing anywhere between six to ten times a day which means the baby is taking feeds properly. If not then make sure the baby is latching and taking feeds well or if ur milk supply is sufficient. Also there should be a gradual weight gain. Keep a check on these factors. Have lot of skin to skin sessions with your baby. This is called kangaroo therapy. It improves Breastmilk, improves baby weight and encourages Breastfeeding.
