#AskTheExpert my baby's birth weight is 2.9 kg. Now she's is 31 days old and her weight is 3.75 kg. She's breastfed only. She's wetting her nappies 6 or 7 times a day and passing loose stools 4 or 5 times a day. Is her weight normal?

Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting andfu its known as gastroenteritis where symptomatic treatment along with management for dehydration is required if loose dmotions are associated with foul smell mucous high grade fever than it could be bacterial infection which needs antibiotics treatment

Sarika guptaMom of 2 children2 years agoA. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and as per my opinion yes your baby weight is perfectly fine and it should be doubled the birth weight in first six months and breastfeeding exclusively for the first six months.
