Q.

#AskTheExpert My baby's (17 months)weight is not increasing for the past 5 months. She had diarrhea twice in the month March. Her weight is though under normal range just 10kg. Since January her weight is absolutely stagnant. what to do. ? please help

A. Good Growth of the child is very important and for this most important is that child should take a healthy diet where its necessary to give a balance diet which should contain all the nutrition required. This is very important for building the immunity also. Encourage for green vegetables fruits dairy products all kinds of dal and other protein containing food items like soyabean eggs etc. Some nutritional deficiencies can be a cause for ltess appetite like iron deficiency which is most common. Supplemefnts like iron supplements and multivitamin with lysine like syp zincovit CL can be given for 1-2 months to increase the appetite. Diet counselling is also very important .

A. Hi mom Give all that you cook for ur family. Add some of the weight gaining food like egg ghee dry fruits,dairy products like paneer curd cheese,banana shake potatoes rice avocado ragi etc in ur baby diet for weight gain.
