#AskTheExpert my baby one' year 16 month old his birth weight 1.9 kg during birth he is admitted nicu for 15 days he have infection and fits what is the reason doctor he was born with normal delivery before due date at 37 weeks what is the. reason. for not gaining weight in womb and now he is 8.6 kg how to increase his weight doctor please suggest me

ExpertVandana SharmaNutritionist3 years agoA. Hello mom their could be various factors exactly what’s the cause it’s difficult to say as per your condition and the situation demand it was done so your gynaecologist would be the ideal person to answer this .
As he was a low birth weight baby so hence they tend to gain weight on a slow pace as compared to full term baby . By now the child can be given regular foods made at home for the family , no restrictions as such
