#AskTheExpert my baby is one month old and is 3. Something in weight. Is it normal to not gain fast.. He is growing normal in height.

ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist3 years agoA. dear mum, if your baby is gaining adequate weight at least 500 grams per month and is active, alert, passing urine more than 7 times in 24 hours, achieving all growth milestones then it is normal.

If your baby's doctor thinks it's necessary, you may have to supplement your baby with additional feedings of either pumped breast milk or infant formula. You can also try to pump and separate your foremilk from your hindmilk. Hindmilk is higher in fat and calories, which can help your baby gain more weight.
