#asktheexpert My baby is not gaining much weight, do I need to give her formula milk along with my breast milk?

A. My baby also 13 months old she is looking so weak but she do all thing walking,dancing,speak also but she is looking weak.. I'm in tension ...what shall I do maam ???

A. Only if you feel breastmilk is not enough for baby, introduce formula milk. In 5 months, you should breastfeed for about 6-7 times a day. Formula milk is not given to gain weight, but only when mother's milk supply is low. Moreover, if baby has doubled the birth weight by 5th month, then it is fine. Every week, baby should gain 200-240 gms weight now. Also, you can also introduce semi solid foods in the diet now. It will also help in increasing healthy weight.
