#asktheexpert my baby is having temp above 99.5 from last 2 nights Already prescribed by physician Her head is extremely high What can i do

A. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children. But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out . Antipyretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm wjgater is also helpful . Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .

A. Using the temperature seems really high by touching the head of the child but are you shorten the temperature is only 99.5 because that is a very very basic and mild fever in that the body cannot be that is your talking about so I think you should retake the temperature with a better thermometer there some little bit of confusion happeningWrite Your Answer Here
