#AskTheExpert my baby is 6yrs old..upto 4yrs she has spoken very well..since 2yrs she is not speaking fluently it is like stammering..could you please let me know the reason why she is speaking like that..thanks in advance

A. Hi dear this is how it starts By 9months to 1yeat they just say mama, papa. By 15 months will understand whatever we say and will observe more. By 18 months they speak few meaningful words amma appa papa mamma thattha.. After two years they make combinations of words like amma give, amma take, appa go, mama come.. Later they make sentences. It will take time for them to speak complete full sentences. Just keep talking more to your kid. I think it's better you contact speech therapist
