#AskTheExpert My baby is 5.5 months old and he is on breastfeeding. How should I introduce food to him and of which types? Should I give water to him after 6 months? If yes, suggest the frequency and quantity.

A. my baby is 6 months old and started on solid foods. but he is not gaining weight. what could be the reason? how frequently we should feed? I have started on ragi, carrot puree, rice porridge, potato puree, dhal water.

A. Hello dear parent,, yes you can give water to your baby after 6 months of age of your baby. You shouod boil the water first and bring it to room temperature then offrmer that to your baby. Give 2 to 3 spoons in the beginning and increase the quantity with passing days.
