#asktheexpert my baby is 4.5 months old , she frequently rubs her left ear. while sleeping at night also she rubs her left ear. today I saw there is wax and a little bit of smell is coming from that ear. please suggest me what to do.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy1 Year agoA. rubbing of ear as well as itching of the ears is totally normal. if the child is not crying do not worry about it and to decrease the itching sensation you can capply coconut oil over it. do not use earbuds to clean the internal ear cavity. external ear can be cleaned with the help of clean cotton cloth. treatment is givenc only if the child is crying with pain while itching. for pain you can give paracetamol
