#AskTheExpert My baby is 3 years old. He has got typhoid and his fever is not going away.Fever is happening once in 8 hours.He is also getting loose motion.Today is 10 days.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 8 yr 3 m old boy3 years agoA. kindly continue the medicine given by your doctor and take a follow up after 3 days of startingx medicine. follow up is also required because the doctor will tell you whether you have to continue the same medicines or there xwill be changed in the medicines . the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water. higher medicines (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor.
