Q.

#AskTheExpert my baby is 17 months old .. he sucks his thumb when he is sleepy... he holds his thumb in the mouth so tightly that there is a wound on his thumb ....what should I do so tht he should leave this habit...

A. Hi you can apply some distasteful medicine over the thumb so that your kid doesn't put his thumb in oral cavity because of the bad taste.. kids tend to put their fingers or thumb to suck when they feel hungry so feed your child properly

A. Offer Plenty of Praise Rather than continuously pointing out that they are sucking their thumb and drawing attention to the behavior, make a point to reinforce and praise them when they are not sucking their thumb.
