Q.

#AskTheExpert My baby had his 6 weeks immunization yesterday afternoon. From yesterday evening he is getting fever around 101. After giving Paracetamol fever subsides for 4-5 hours and then comes back. We have given Paracetamol every 6-8 hours last 3 times since yesterday evening. how long do we have to give Paracetamol to the child?

A. Fever is a response of the body to any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body so you can give paracetamol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/dose as the first lingge treatment also this dose can be again repeated after every 5 to 6 hours if again required and you can also do cold sponging of the body to reduce fever
