#asktheexpert My baby got his 3 and half month vaccine on Monday. He had fever once on that same night. Now he got the fever today afternoon and now too. Is it possible for fever due to vaccination to come after 1 day? And when should I consult the doctor if he again gets the fever?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Post vaccination swelling may be a common thing specially after DPT vaccine which may be painful for two or three days and the swelling may remain even up to month so if it is not causing any pain or other symptoms nothing to worry.
Swrselling can be reduced by giving ice fomentation locally and paracetamol can be given for fever or pain.
Thrombophobe ointment can be applied in acute pain and swelling .
