#asktheexpert my baby girl is almost two years old and I am still feeding her. what is the right time to stop breast feeding?

A. you can continue nap sessions till three years.. slowly help your child to sleep with a story or some other ways.. slowly child will learn to sleep without breastfeeding

A. Breastfeeding is recommended upto 1.5 yrs to 2 yrs or even after that as long as the baby and the mother are comfortable with it. So it depends on u and ur baby. When u plan to stop, Instead of weaning abruptly like applying neem oil or something else the below approach can be stress-free for both the mother and the baby. First try to regularize the Breastfeeding and solid feeding schedule and stop feeding on demand. Then Start weaning slowly. Stop one feed first during day time. Make the child forget it by diverting her with any interesting play or story or take her outside. After stopping that feed for couple of days, stop oned more feed. Slowly you will get to a place where you will be giving only night feed. Then you should start weaning the night feed. Take it slowly.
