Q.

#AskTheExpert my baby gets stuffy nose every now and then since a month. She is 4 months old now. When given nasal spray she gets a bit relief for some time then again it becomes the same. Mostly in the morning her nose will be more stuffy. After bath it sounds even more then I spray and put her to sleep. Can u please tell me if this will continue for long or will this be cured? And would be the reason for her stuffy nose?!

A. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine whcich should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed. if any fever is there vparacetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
