A. Kiwi, mango and bananas are healthy choices as well. Chop raw vegetables into small pieces to prevent choking or steam them to make them softer and easier to eat. Carrots, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, squash, peas and green beans are loaded with essential nutrients. At 14 months of age, your baby should consume approximately three main meals and two snacks in a day. On average, some 40 calories per inch of your baby's height is the average amount of calories that your baby should be consuming. The most common reasons for a healthy thriving child to refuse solid foods is because she fills up on milk (breast, formula or other) and is not hungry for other food, or because she prefers to drink milk rather than eat solids.
