Q.

#AskTheExpert my baby boy's birth weight was 2.9kg but after 2 days weight was 2.7 kg. after 10 days baby regained birth weight and after 10 days we weighed him again and he was 3.1 kg. does my baby is under weight. what should I do. what is the normal weight gain range? is he gaining normally?

A. no weigth is optimum it should double the birth weight by 5 months of age Weight gain depeens upon birth weight and maturity of the baby if the baby is active and feeding adequately don't worry about it feed for 10 to 15 min from each side

A. Hi mom yes the weight of your baby is perfectly fine. Actually babies they loose their weight in the initial days after birth which is very much normal. so no need to worry. Feed after every 2-3 hours interval or when demanded by the baby for weight gain
