#asktheexpert my baby boy is 5 month and 14 days old my breastmilk is not enough for him .I can start solid and cow milk to him

A. Yes you can start semi doled foods in baby's diet between the age of 5-6 months. Start slow with 4-6 spoons per serving and twice a day. Give foods like lentil puree, mashed banana, apple, carrots and pear puree, mixed vegetable soup, khichdi, ragi and sooji porridge, etc. Do not give cow milk till atleast 1 year as the digestion is not fully developed and giving this may cause indigestion and loss of appetite. You can give formula milk if breastmilk is not enough.
