Q.

#AskTheExpert My 8 month old son having loose motion 4-5 times a day from past 4 days. sometime stool is little green and sometime normal(not loose) like once or twice. he is on formula milk an breast milk both. can I get advice on this.

A. you have to visit the doctor after 2-3 days if it is not improving so better to meet your doctor now

A. Baby is active and behaving normaly also having food the same. But how long should I wait, because it's forth day now. when to see a doctor.

A. Hello dear parent it is common for the babies to have loose tools after starting supplementary feed because the intestines have to get adjusted to the newly introduced foods and also it is common for the formula fed babies to pass green colour stones do not worry about itWrite Your Answer Here

A. when the child is having loose motion you cannot give milk to the child kindly give ORS for every episode of loose motion and give simple diet made from rice dal and khichdi curd buttermilk apple banana and the natural probiotics from the curd will help in decreasing the loose motion and if it is not improving in one or two days then kindly meet your doctor. also you cannot give outside milk to the child and you cannot give cerelac also but you can continue to give breastfeeding if going on for next few days

A. Hanuman the colour of the motion is common in the bottle feed babies nothing to be worried it is ok as long as your baby is not taking the feed and not active if your baby is taking the feeds regularly nothing to be worried
