Q.

#AskTheExpert My 8.5 month old sits, crawls, pulls to stand with support. She smiles, laughs, plays and babbles less aa ta ta aata. She responds to name at times. She signals to be picked up and turns her face away when done with food. She enjoys peek a boo and at times initiates by putting cloth on her face. She likes to look in mirror and catch shadows. She recently started mimicking simple sounds and actions. Concerns: 1. She understands only 1-2 words like if we say pigeon, she looks outside window 2. we see her doing some actions sometimes which looks like bye but she will not do when prompted Is this age appropriate or any concerns. Worried. Please suggest.

A. Hi Mom, It is normal and nothing to worry about that. You baby is doing all the things appropriate to her age. Just wait for some more months to recognize all the things that you have concerned about. Feed your baby well at regular intervals of time. Thank you and have a good day.
