#AskTheExpert My 7 month old baby is having constipation, he is not able pass stool from last 4 Days. Although he is trying to. Have started on solid food. Kindly help.

A. constipation is common problem in children in which diet modification is important like including high fibres in the diet for which you can give seasonal fruits like papaya, watermelon and seasonal vegetables will also help , can give daliya or oatsmeal also .give more liquids. giving excess of milk may cause constipation too.also avoid banana which may aggravate .lactulose or pbm polyethylene glycol is of good help,give any medicine or suppository only when prescribed.

A. U Should also give good amount of liquid to the child when you start giving semisolid food to the child because that’s going to help in regulating the digestion of the child but as of now I would advise you that you go ahead with any laxative after consulting the doctor
