#AskTheExpert my 6 week old infant is constipated. how to cure it?

A. that's normal, typically breastfed babies will not poop as often because their bodies absorb most of the breast milk. going even a week without having a bowl movement is fine.

A. she's mostly formula fed, not breast fed. she's not even 2 months old, so i can't give juices no..

A. hi dear If your baby seems constipated, consider simple dietary changes: Water or fruit juice. Offer your baby a small amount of water or a daily serving of 100 percent apple, prune or pear juice in addition to usual feedings. These juices contain sorbitol, a sweetener that acts like a laxative.
