Q.

#asktheexpert... My 5yr old daughter was diagnosed with ASD 5 mm at birth ( osteum secondum). She has mild murmur even now but lesser than before...she is asymptomatic..our paediatrician is not very concern about it and has not advised anything further...is it ok..will it cause problem for her later in life ?

A. In certain cases as the age processes it closes on its own but I would recommend you to keep keep checking on it monitor it with a proper testing every six months you can get a proper test done for your child to know what is the progress how is it and in most of the cases are not create problem in future or in life but some restrictions are definitely there for that you should consult a cardiologist maybe they’ll be able to give you correct advice on this
