#asktheexpert My 5 month old son got fever 19th of April. Doctor suggested following medication 1 MEFTAL -P for fever 2 Ascoril LS 3 Histafree Can you please tell these medicines works well on viral fever and how many days it will take to cure? Also, antibiotic is also required which is not prescribed by doctor? Is it really required in such cases? If yes please suggest here.

A. hi. mostely viral infections last long for 5 to 7 days. and antibiotics has no role on viral fever. follow your treating doctor advice. all the very best
