Q.

#AskTheExpert My 5 and a half month baby's weight is 7 kgs. No improvement in weight for the past 1 month. Her birth weight was 2.9 kgs. She is ebf. Why is there no weight increase? Should I start giving her solids or is this weight enough ?

A. Hello mam Birth weight of the child doubles by 6 months and triples by 1 year... so right now weight is good not on lower side... sometimes the weight increases slowly cause of developmental milestones too so don’t worry You can start with solids once the child is 6 months old ...

A. Hi You can add a formula milk for this month. start with top up foods after a month Start with liquids initially like dal water, rice kanji. then move to vegetable soup, mashed apple. mashed banana.

A. Yes you can give solids, The longer baby's been eating solids and the more he's interested in eating them, the more you should feel free to feed him—up to three ounces, three times per day.
