POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy6 months agoA. For a 4-month-old baby with cough, it's important to handle it gently and carefully:
Saline nasal drops can help if there's nasal congestion. Use a humidifier in the room to keep the air moist. Give frequent breastfeeding or formula to keep your baby hydrated. Elevate the baby’s head slightly during sleep (by placing a towel under the mattress, not directly under the baby) to ease breathing. Avoid exposure to cold air, dust, or strong smells.
Do not give any cough syrup or medicine without a pediatrician’s advice, as babies under 6 months are very sensitive. If the cough worsens, or if there’s fever, difficulty in breathing, wheezing, or poor feeding, consult your doctor immediately.
