Q.
#AskTheExpert my 2month old baby getting cold and cough.and it's almost 10days over he is suffering by cough and cold.sometime he coughing very hard.is it normal?how much days take time to cure this problem?please suggest how to take care of baby at this problem.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed.
if any fever is there paracetyamol can be given to reduce the temperature and theby dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
