Q.

#asktheexpert my 2 month old baby takes breastfeed only for 8-10 min during night. She wakes up every 2-4 hours in the night and takes breastfeed for 8-10 min and then goes back to sleep while in the day time, she takes breast feed for 20-40 min every 2-3 hours. is it normal?

A. you have to give only demand feeding to the child that is whenever the child feels hungry you can give milk to the child and the child will take the milk according to the need and then will leave the milk. if the child is taking more milk you can offer milk in more quantity with intermittent burping . there is no need to to go for fixed fdeeding pattern. also there is no need to wake up the child from sleep if the weight dof the child is within normal limits . also if the weight gain of the child every month is normal then no need to worry regarding the pattern of breastfeeding

A. Yes that is hundred percent normal for the child don’t worry about it as the breastfeeding timing can be different different from time to time for a child so it is completely normal to have a little longer feeding during the daytime and less than the nighttime
