#AskTheExpert my 19 month old suffered from fever 2 weeks ago, we consulted a paediatric near us. he said baby is having throat infection so prescribed antibiotics, and antipyretics, baby recovered in 5 days, now after a week of recovery she is having fever again from last night. what should be the reason n what should I do?

A. baby is now 19 months old so baby on touch can have warm soles and head. It s a normal and healthy thing. Check temperature at armpit level and if above 99 fahrenheit then we treat fever in babies. Can give drops paracetamol like  calpol / T 98 / Sumol as per ba y weight . Can be repeated every 6 hours . fever is an immune response and is a sign so if fever is recurrent and persists then we need some tests and need a pediatrician visit
