#AskTheExpert My 1 month old has nose block issue and when we hold her, we can feel there is phlem inside her throat. Doctor has advised nasal drops, but I feel sometimes it is not giving her enough relief and she takes heavy breath due to that. Please advise how to reduce the nose block and phlem issue.

A. She doesn't have running nose, neither fever nor cold. she makes some sound during sleep, and doctor advised nasal drops for nose block issue

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ho hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
