A. If your baby’s wound or injury is not healing and seems to be getting worse, it’s important to be cautious. First, gently clean the area with clean water or a mild antiseptic solution recommended for babies. You can apply a baby-safe antiseptic cream like Soframycin, Neosporin, or Betadine (if advised by a doctor). Avoid using adult ointments or home remedies without guidance. Keep the area clean, dry, and uncovered unless a bandage is needed. If there is redness, swelling, pus, or fever, it could be an infection — in that case, consult a pediatrician immediately. Prompt care helps prevent complications.
