Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. you can apply gummies gel over the gums and do massage with your finger wrapped in a wet cloth for relieving the irritation and pain of teething.in extreme case can give paracetamol also. for proper teething you can give calcium and vitamin D supplements to your baby as advised by your doctor .any other medicines may not be of much help so better avoid.it is not advisable to give any teether or pacifier to your child because it can be a source of infection if at all there is any mistake in maintaining good hygiene as well as it is habit forming so better avoid it for the betterment of your child.if still u wish to give maintain utmost hygiene and precautions.growth of the child can be ensured by fulfillment of proper nutritional requirement specially iron and vitamin D is required for better growth and cognition.one should ensure that the child should get a proper balanced diet which contains all types of micro and macronutrients essential for growth.
any kind of infection specially any chronic infection should be ruled out and treated which may hamper the growth otherwise.
after 2 years of age you can give some powder like Kids Pro/ prohance junior mixed with milk twice a day for one or two months but any health drink is not recommended before two yrs of age.u can add flavours also to milk. avoid giving too much of milk otherwise it may hamper the hunger of the baby and the baby may not be taking interest in having other variety of food .and opposite to that if the baby is not taking milk properly the dairy products will be a good substitute like curd, paneer n cheese etc.
