#AskTheExpert #Mamypoko My son is 2 months old and had been given BCG vaccine on first day. but yesterday suddenly there is lump on his arm where injection was given. Is this normal? and what needs to be taken care of? Thanks in advance.

A. it is normal for a BCG vaccine spot to pop out become infected and also just opened it is a normal sequence and you do not have to do anything in between

A. What to expect after the BCG vaccination Keep the area clean and dry. It is OK to bathe your child as usual. ... A wound dressing with gauze may be used if the area starts to ooze. Use a sterile alcohol swab to clean the area if required. Do not apply ointment, antiseptic creams, or sticking plasters (e.g. Band-Aids).
