So in one and a half or 2 hours he would feed sometimes for an hour or 1 hr 15-20 minutes not at a stretch but breaking the feed. (45 mins feed first, a gap and again for 15-20 mins). So wanted to check if it is normal for new born to feed for this much time 45 mins to 1 hr 20 mins.

Few suggested that the ideal time would be 20 mins to half n hour per feed. Kindly let know you're thoughts on this.

Initially feed the baby on demand.
Yes new born babies can take milk for longer time. Also check for ur milk supply that it is sufficient for the baby or not. U can check by expressing ur milk.
