#AskTheExpert #Mamypoko hello, my baby is 8 months old. still he is 8 kg only.is that weight ok or not? he is having 2 times cerelac n mother feed, n some times giving cow milk when i am down with breast feed. plz.suggest me.is that fine or not?

A. Hi, it depends on the birth weight. Usually baby will get double the birth weight by six months and triple the birth weight by one year. Please check accordingly to baby’s birth weight. If the weight is more please concentrate and reduce the quantity of the food. Avoid cerelac and try to give home-made ragi porridge and fruit purees and vegetable purees. Avoid giving cow milk until completion of one year as they are heavy to digest and may cause infection. You can give five semisolid feed in a day with a gap of four hours between each feed.
