A. It’s normal for babies to grow at their own pace, but if your 8-month-old is thinner than others and not eating well, it’s important to encourage healthy eating habits gently. At this age, babies need a mix of breast milk or formula along with solid foods like mashed fruits, vegetables, rice, dal, and soft khichdi. Offer small meals 2–3 times a day and let the baby explore different textures and tastes without forcing. Make mealtimes calm and distraction-free. If the baby is active, passing urine regularly, and meeting milestones, weight may not be a major concern. However, if there’s a noticeable weight drop or continued poor appetite, consult a pediatrician to rule out any underlying issues.
