A. I understand how concerning it can be when your baby’s weight gain is slow. At 9 months old, an average baby weighs between 7.5 to 10 kg, but every child grows at their own pace. At 7 kg, your baby is on the lower side, but instead of just focusing on weight, check if she is active, meeting milestones, and eating well. How to Help Your Baby Gain Weight: Increase High-Calorie Foods – Add ghee, butter, full-fat dairy, banana, avocado, sweet potato, and dry fruit powder to meals. More Frequent Meals – Offer 3 main meals and 2-3 healthy snacks daily along with breast milk or formula. Protein-Rich Diet – Include dal, eggs, paneer, curd, fish, and chicken for muscle growth. Healthy Fats – Use coconut oil, peanut butter, or almond paste in porridge or purees. Iron & Vitamin Supplements – If the doctor recommends, ensure proper iron, vitamin D, and calcium intake. If she is active and healthy, there’s no need to worry too much. However, if she is weak, not eating, or losing weight, consult a pediatrician to rule out any underlying issues. You're doing great as a mother—keep feeding with love and patience!
