Constipation in children is common, especially if their diet lacks fiber or fluids. Here’s what you can do:
✅ Home Remedies & Dietary Changes
1️⃣ Increase Fiber Intake
Give fruits like papaya, pear, prunes, figs, soaked raisins, and banana (ripe). Add vegetables like spinach, bottle gourd (lauki), carrots, and sweet potatoes. Include whole grains like oats, brown rice, and whole wheat roti.
2️⃣ Hydration is Key
Ensure she drinks enough water (6-8 glasses daily, depending on age). Warm water in the morning helps digestion. Fresh fruit juices like prune juice or pear juice can help soften stools.
3️⃣ Give Probiotic Foods
Curd/yogurt helps regulate digestion. Buttermilk with a pinch of cumin powder aids digestion.
4️⃣ Healthy Fats Help
Include ghee in dal or roti. A teaspoon of soaked flaxseeds or chia seeds can be mixed in her food.
5️⃣ Encourage Physical Activity
Running, jumping, cycling, or playing outdoors helps stimulate digestion. Light belly massages (clockwise) help in bowel movements. 🔸 When to See a Doctor?
❌ If constipation lasts more than a week.
