Q.

#AskTheExpert Is there a minimum amount of breast milk that a baby is supposed to consume in a day? I gave birth 11 days ago but my flow is very little. Baby is on formula right now. I wanted to know if there was a minimum amount on breast milk that would ensure sufficient nutrients reach the baby.

A. hi parents as your baby is a newborn baby it requires adequate amount of breastmilk to satisfy the needs the amount of breast milk required for the baby depends on the weight of the baby, in case of inadeaute secretion of milk, can go for alternate top up feeds. proper latchment of breast is crucial for feeding, kindly consult lactation consultant to it
