Q.

#asktheexpert I want to start on post partum weight loss. I had c-section and didn't lose much weight. I have getting back ache and I want to start training. Can I start training and diet?

A. Hi Mom, for weight loss, would advise you to focus on having a healthy and balanced diet. include homecooked foods with whole grains, millets dals and pulses, milk and milk products, fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, adequate water to keep you hydrated and healthy fats in small quantities. add small mid-meals inbetween after every 2 hours intervals and stick to your meal timings. avoid outside packed, processed and junk foods, recipes with refined flour, excess salt, sugar and fats. you can also start with walk or some exercise or yoga.

A. Yes you can also try kehels Tighten your pelvic floor muscles, hold for five seconds and then release. Remember to not hold your breath while doing this exercise. Try it 4-5 times in a row, with a 10-seconds break in between each. This strengthens your pelvic floor muscles.
