#AskTheExpert I m 20 weeks pregnant I have pain in my tailbone area not able to sit for longer periods is it normal? what should I do for the pain?

A. this mostly occurs if you regularly sit or stand in a wrong position for a long time so better take back support whenever you are sitting and also sit with a straight back and not bending forwards

A. Tailbone pain is often caused by the pelvic ligaments loosening and shifting. During pregnancy, your body releases a hormone called relaxin. The hormone makes your pelvic ligaments looser and more flexible to make room for the baby to grow and enable you to give birth.
