A. ideal weight depends in the birth weight of the baby. babies tend to put on 500 to 700 grams of weight every month after birth. this is the most ideal situation. but slightly less or more is fine. just eat well and frequently breastfeed. feed for longer duration so that baby gets enough of fore milk and hind milk. hind milk is thicker and helps in gaining weight in babies. you can give mashed egg yolk..about half a tbsp. you can give 1 tbsp banana 2-3 times a week yogurt about tbsp. mashed potato about 1 tbsp 2-3 times a week. you can give some ghee also...about half tbsp...but in two servings. ...not all at once. try any new food in small quantities and gradually increase. preferably give in morning time.
