Q.

#AskTheExpert I have flat nipple. so i am unable to Breastfeed my 12 days baby. i am using 10ml syringing to increase my nipple size & nipple shield to feed him.. i want to know after using syringing technique for some days if i can brestfeed my baby directly or not? if i have to depend nipple shield forever?? after my baby become 2/3 month old if he can suck my nipple or not? how can i know the milk amount is sufficient for him or not? Minimum 6 month baby should given breastmilk . so for 6 month i have to use nipple shield or within that period baby will directly take brestmilk . Till how many days i have to use nipple shield & syringing (for some days/ some. month/ or some year) ? if i can brestfeed my baby when he will be above 6 month or not?? or that time also i have to go for syringing & nipple shield??

A. Hi dear mom Go for nipple shield. U can continue to breast feed ur baby till two years as long as u and ur baby are comfortable. If ur baby is active and comfortable, passing out urine 6-8 times in a day, gaining weight then that means ur baby is taking sufficient feed.
