#AskTheExpert I have a 5 week old baby delivered normally. Last one week I had very less brown discharge (not required to wear a pad). Today, I had period like blood stains on bottoms and had to use a pad. I am exclusively breastfeeding my baby and he is gaining weight as per growth chart. my question is, I am having 1st period after delivery within 6-8 weeks of delivery or it is lochia that stops and starts in the period 6-8 weeks after delivery?

ExpertDr.Deepinder Kaur DhawanObstetrician and Gynaecologist3 years agoA. in case you are a breastfeeding mom then you can experience irregular periods or bleed due to hormonal fluctuations. take iron calcium and multivitamin regularly and protein powder with milk twice a day

Hi mommy Take healthy protein rich nutritious food including fenugreek ajwain butter to increase your breast milk avoid stress stay happy it also help to increase your breast milk you can take lactogen tablet to increase bm Burp well after evey feeding by holding your baby in straight right position and wait for burping atleat ten minutes
